I was born and raised in Limerick, growing up with my parents and two brothers in a home where sport shaped so much of who we were. Whether we were kicking a ball around the garden or showing up for each other’s games, sport was woven into everyday life. As a teenager, I started to see its power, how it lifted confidence, created belonging, shaped character, and opened doors to possibility.

That belief has stayed with me, and it’s what inspired UP, a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can discover what they’re capable of, push their limits, and feel part of something bigger. A place where excellence and joy go hand in hand.

On the pitch, sport has taken me further than I ever imagined. As an Irish Olympian and World Cup silver medallist, hockey has brought me from the University of Connecticut to some of the biggest hockey stages in the world, the Australian Hockey League, the Indian Hockey League, and most recently the Belgian Hockey League.

Off the pitch, my passion has always been learning — about people, teams, and the systems that help them thrive. With a degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Education, and further study in Applied Sport Psychology, I’ve built an approach grounded in curiosity, clarity, and compassion.

I founded UP to create the opportunities I wish existed when I was younger. I know how positive the impact can be when we build environments where everyone feels empowered to Rise UP.
